The special issue Experiments on Environmental and
Natural Resource Policies contains
six articles that report on separate economics
experiments related to environmental and natural resource
policies. The articles fall broadly into two categories: three articles
(Cherry and McEvoy, Duke et al., and Perger et al.) provide “wind
tunnel” testbeds (Ledyard et al., 2000) for assessing the causal impacts
of institutional design elements crucial to policymaking, while the other
three articles (Zetland, Jamison et al., and Jindal et al.) seek to better
understand human behavioral responses to general policy-induced
incentives.
